Univalle Music Admittance Test: A specific test and how to get ready
At Univalle the specific test decides the whole score of admittent to music. We explain its three parts, how much each weighs and how to prepare them.
To get into Music or a Master's degree at the University of the Valle, in Cali, you have a specific aptitude and knowledge test That, at the most recent call we reviewed (2027-I), defined the whole selection score. Know 11 is required to sign up but does not sum up points.
The test has three parts: an audition of your instrument of up to 10 minutes, an examination of individual and oral theoretical knowledge, and an interview. What changes between the two programs is the weight of each party.

How admissions work and what role does knowledge have 11
To sign up for any Univalle undergraduate, at the 2027-I call you should have submitted the Knowledge 11 from 2016 and have a minimum global score of 190. To meet that requirement, in music programs the selection is made with the specific test: the resolution of offer for 2027-1 assigns to that test the full score for both programs.

The three parts are presential at Melendez campus, and the exact place is reported by mail. Since the entrance is an year old, to lose the date means to wait a year: it sets the calendar with time and arrives half an hour earlier with your original identity document.

The difference has logic: Music gives more weight to your level of performer and the Licenciatura to your bases of musical language. We have been unable to figure out a minimum score and an elimination part for these programs. What's clear about this is that whoever doesn't have the proof cannot be admitted.

The theoretical knowledge examination (musical and hearing reading)
In 2027-I was an individual and oral examination in which you have shown basic knowledge of theory and hearing discrimination, with exercises such as singing scales and arpegtiums, reading by singing melodic fragments at first glance and mimicking rhythms. That's an oral that changes the preparation: it's not enough to know the theory on paper, you have to sing and run it in front of a jury.

The instrument test: 10 minutes to display your level
It's an individual, previously prepared, audition of the main instrument that you will study in the race. It's 10 minutes and you have to wear your instrument, except if you play piano, contraple or percussion. The School publishes the required instrument repertoire at its Proponent's page. It weighs 10% and is made after the theoretical examination.
