When can you start?

From age 6

With children, singing is worked as a vocal play: songs, imitation, tuning and breathing, without forcing his or her voice or looking for an adult sound. The formal technique is introduced little by little and adapted to his or her body, and during the change of his or her youth's voice it's necessary to advance with special care while respecting the range available at every moment. It's a guide and every child's different. Adults can start at any age: it's never late to discover and train his or her voice.

What do you need to start with?

  • Your voice and your desire to explore it, and you don't have to have previous experience.
  • A space where you can be free to sing without worrying about the volume.
  • A bottle of water and a way to record you (phone's good enough) to listen to your progress.
  • For virtual classes: stable connection, a device with camera and hearing aids to listen well to the teacher and clues.

Why learn singing

  • It improves your breathing and posture, something that can be felt as well by talking in public.

  • It strengthens confidence and personal expression.

  • He's teaching you how to care for your voice, something valuable if you use it a lot at work or your studies.

  • Training his ear, a useful base if you later have to join with his piano or guitar.

Questions about singing lessons

Can anyone learn how to sing?

Almost all people can improve their singing with training: tuning is a skill that develops with an ear and practice, and not just a gift. Each voice has its color and range, and the goal of the classes is to get best out of yours. Progress depends on the constancy and starting point of each person.

Can we have virtual singing classes?

Yes, and they work well to work breathing, tuning, technique and repertoire. The small delay of the video call prevents singing at exactly the same time as the teacher, so that they work with shifts or with clues. If you prefer face contact, you can take the classes at home in and around Bogotá.

What do I do if I feel bad about singing in front of someone?

It's very common and teacher knows that: the first classes focused on simple exercises and an atmosphere of confidence. To have classes at your place or by video call, in a known space, usually help to get out. Do not have to sing a complete song on the first day.

Can I have the genre I love?

The vocal technique is common but applying to the style you want: pop, rock, ballast, salsa, andina Colombian or lyrico music, among others. Your teacher chooses exercises and repertoire with your goal as his goal, whether to be his best singer, a band or to prepare an audition.
