Music entrance exam at Universidad del Atlántico: how and how to get ready
At the University of the Atlantic first you are summoned to Know 11 and then you have to approve the specific test with 3 out of 5. We tell you what you evaluate in each program.
The University of the Atlantic has two pregrades of music at its Faculty of Fine Arts: Bachelor of Musicand the program of MusicFor both of us at the most recent call we reviewed (2026-2), the process had two filters: first they summoned you with your Know 11 score and then presented a specific face-to-face test that you had to approve with minimum 3 out of 5.
The tests of both programs are similar but they are not equal: the Licenciatura includes a cappella and a pedagogical interview, and Music, dictated, solpual and a more demanding audition. Here we explain each one.

For Music, the university recommends that we reach with four to five years of instrument study, because in the first year we are expected to achieve the first level of their appraisal by skills. It's an honest warning: it's not a program to start from scratch. What's the process about: call by Know 11 and tipping up
- Registration at the university admission process with your code of knowledge 11.
- List of convenes: for Fine Arts programs are called at eight times the quota, ordering those registered from higher to lower global score of the Know 11. Only those summoned present the proof.
- Specific face-to-face test at the School of Fine Arts with an original identity document.
- List of admitted: Those who approve the test compete with the sum of the score of the specific test and that of Know 11.
The key rule of the 2026-2 guide: to be admitted to a program of Fine Arts with specific proof you need a minimum 3 out of 5 approval note, and your Know 11 score is only taken into account if you have passed that test. We have found no published how much each score weighs in the final sum.

The tools offered in 2026-2 were singing, piano, acoustic guitar, violin, viola, cello, contraband, trapezan flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, bomdino, tuba, under electrical, percussion and accordion.

The Test of Music Program
In 2026-2 the Music Test had three parts that were submitted rotatively on the same day: a written and group theoretical examination (for which they requested to conduct hearing aids), an individual examination of solphis and rhythmic reading, and an individual test of instrument.

For the instrument, the university puts an instrument-by-instrument requirement on its Música program admission exam page (some lists are 2021 and 2022, so confirms that they are still valid). For example, with guitar the list requested three studies to choose (from Brouwer, Giuliani, Carcassi or Sagreas), a free work, scales and with them singing. Also here you have your instrument, except piano, percussion and contraband.
If you do not approve of an evaluation, the university offers a four-semester preparatory program that can be put into undergraduate care. It can be a good course if you miss an instrument level.
How to prepare for the University of the Atlantic Test
