Loads of the ropes of the ukelele
Factual frequencies with the reference ratio at 440 Hz. If your group with another reference, for example, 442 Hz, change them with the "The =" and the tuning machine sets all the notes.
| Rog | Note | Filling | Frequency (The = 440 Hz) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1st string | La | A4 | 440.00 Hz |
| 2nd string | Mi | E4 | 329.63 Hz |
| 3-Reg | Do | C4 | 261.63 Hz |
| 4th string | Sol | G4 | 392.00 Hz |
The 4th string (Sol4) sounds more acute than the 3rd (Do4): it's a re-entry tuning. The most serious note of the ukelele is at the 3rd string, but not at the 4th.
That's why the 4th string's sharp.
At re-entry tuning, the four strings are put into a very narrow record, less than an octave between the most serious and the most acute. That's why the chords of the ukelele sound compact and bright and that's why the rag doesn't look for a profound bass as on the guitar.
How to check the ear ukelele
With the 3-string (Do) tuned, the rest are checked with reference scattering. Since the tuning is re-entering, the 4-string is compared with the 3-step, but not the other way around:
| Pisa | At the frat | That's got to sound just as bad as |
|---|---|---|
| 3-Rope (Do) | 4 | 2nd to air (My) |
| 2nd string (My) | 5 | 1 (A) |
| 3-Rope (Do) | 7 | 4th to air (Sun) |
| 4th string (Sun) | 2 | 1 (A) |
Low G and ukelele baritone
| Tipo | Notes (4th to 1st) | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| Soprano, concert and tenor | Sol4 · Do4 · Mi4 · La4 | Reentry standard tuning |
| Low G (especially with tenor) | Sol3 · Do4 · Mi4 · La4 | The 4th string goes down an octave and needs a bigger string |
| Baritone | Re3 · Sol3 · Si3 · Mi4 | Just as with the guitar's four sharp strings |
That tuning machine is set up for standard tuning. To low G or baritone, use the [chromatic tuning machine]](/herramientas/afinador) and get the notes from the table.
How to tuning The ukelele with this tuner
- Touch Engage Mic and accept your browser's permission. The sound is analysed on your device: it isn't recorded or sent.
- Let the target string at Auto so that the tuner will recognize what string you play, or touch a note to fix it.
- Touch a single string into the air with mean force and let it sound.
- If the needle's at the left, the note's low: put up the tuning. If it's at the right, put it down. Between − 5 and + 5 cents it's thought to be tuning.
- Use the speaker with each note to listen to reference and train your ear.
- Reg all the ropes at the end: some have a few moves to each other.
Tips To Refine Your ukelele
- The fourth string (Sun) is more acute than the third: it's the re-entry tuning that gives the typical sound of ukelele.
- The nylon strings are greatly stretched at first and have been put into practice several times during the first week.
- If the ukelele moves from a cold place to a hot place, wait a few minutes before tuning.
- Check the air chord: in standard tuning, the four chord joints form a Do chord with sixth (Do, Mi, Sol, La).
Common problems with tuning
- The needle leapes between notes: He plays a single string, a little more soft, and waits for the sound to stabilize. The first instant of every note always sounds a little more sharp.
- Do not detect serious strings: The cell phone microphones miscapture low frequencies. Reach it to the instrument or play the harmonic half of the string (3): The tuning agent recognizes it as the same string and warns you that an octave sounds up.
- The air's tuned, but what you play sounds bad: Check that no string is at the wrong octave and that the strings aren't old. If you're still old, ask your teacher or a luthier to check the calibration of the instrument.
- It's clear right away: The new strings are stretching for several days and changes in temperature and moisture move tuning. Filling at the same place you will play.
- The browser does not order the microphone: Check the site's permissions into the browser's configuration and that no other apps are using the bug.
Frequently asked questions
What's the standard ukelele tuning?
Sun, Do, Mi, La (G C E A), from the fourth to the first string.
What about the Baritone ukelele?
Reg, Sol, Si, Mi (G G B E), as with the guitar's four sharp strings. The tuner is chromatic, so it works as well.
Learning ukelele helps with guitar?
Yes: share the logic of chords and scattering. If you want to step up, look at our [guitar classes]](/clases/guitarra-acustica).
