Music programs for older adults

Singing together, discovering an instrument, or listening to a song and sharing the memories it brings are ways to enjoy time as a community. We bring patient, experienced teachers from our network to senior residences, community centers, and cajas de compensación. It's music and companionship; it isn't music therapy or treatment.

Ideal for

  • Senior care homes and residences looking for regular activities for their residents.
  • Community centers and older-adult programs run by local government or foundations.
  • Cajas de compensación offering recreational and cultural activities for their older members.
  • Institutions looking to bring grandparents, children, and teens together through music.

What's included

  • Group singing with a repertoire the group knows and wants to sing.
  • An introduction to a simple instrument, such as guitar, piano, tiple, or percussion, at each person's own pace.
  • Music appreciation: listening, talking, and sharing memories through songs.
  • Intergenerational activities with children, teens, or families from the institution.
  • Teachers from our network, assessed for musicianship, teaching skills, and personal qualities before their first lesson.
  • Sessions adapted to each group's mobility, mood, and schedule.

How it works

  1. Initial conversation

Tell us about the group, its current activities, how long each session lasts, and what participants would like to do.

  2. Program design

We choose the format (singing, an instrument, appreciation, or an intergenerational gathering) and the pace of the sessions.

  3. Sessions at your institution

The teacher comes to your residence or center, where participants already feel comfortable. We adapt the repertoire to what the group enjoys.

  4. Follow-up with your team

We talk with the activity coordinator to make any adjustments needed and plan what comes next.

What your institution receives

  • A program of regular sessions at your premises
  • A repertoire built with the group
  • A closing session or gathering open to families or other groups, if desired
  • Teacher feedback for the activity coordination team

Frequently asked questions

Is this music therapy?

No. It's a music and recreation program: singing, learning, and sharing. We don't offer therapy or make health claims. If you're looking for music therapy, you need a professional in that specialty.

Where do sessions take place?

At your institution: the senior care home's common room, a room at the community center, or the caja de compensación's space. We don't have our own premises; the teacher comes to the group.

Do participants need to know music?

No. The groups are for people with no experience. We start with familiar songs and, for instruments, simple exercises at each person's own pace. Anyone interested in individual lessons can read learning music in later life.

How do we book, and how much does it cost?

We usually work under a contract with the institution. The price depends on the number of sessions, group size, and format. Send us a message and we'll send you a proposal.

Can children or families join the sessions?

Yes. We can organize intergenerational gatherings where children, teens, or families sing and play alongside older adults. Arrangements are made case by case.

Request a proposal
